for the first view it looks like a normal 4x4x4 cube, but the fact that it has a complete loop piece around the interlocking inside pieces will show you that inside is a connected double 3x3x3 cube which needs rotation to come apart
difficulty
the level 1.1.4.2.3 explains that the disassembling is more difficult than expected, especially to find the correct turn
